Fuel Consumption System(FCS)

FCS | Fuel Consumption System

Why are Fuel Consumption systems used?

Maritime operations demand meticulous attention to operational efficiency and compliance with environmental and marine regulations issued by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), National and International Regulations, Monitoring, Reporting and Verification Regulations (EU MRV and UK MRV), IMO DCS, attained Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) and CII requirements – Carbon Intensity Indicator and CII rating,  SEEMP Part III (Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan), etc. Furthermore, along with the increasing environmental awareness, there is a constant need for fuel cost reduction. This has led to a high demand for accurate measurement systems to monitor the fuel consumption.

How our system works?

The Electropneumatic’s Professional Fuel Consumption Measuring System (FCS) is a trustworthy Marine Technology developed for measuring fuel mass flow, temperature and density and utilizes the extremely accurate Coriolis flow meter technology, ensuring accurate detection of abnormalities in fuel supply to prevent unnecessary costs for operators. It is a Programmable Electronic System (PES) / Computer-Based System (CBS) suitable to measure the fuel mass flow on both supply and return line of the respective consumer (Main Engines / Generators / Boilers), and it provide real-time data such as:

  • Per Consumer Mass Flow kg/hr and mean value per group of consumers in kg/h.
  • Trip total MT per Fuel Type in case of more than one trip per day
  • Daily total MT per Fuel Type
  • Total consumption in MT since the initial installation of Consumption Measuring System
  • Type of Consumed Fuel
  • Density in 15oC and in real Fuel Temperature
  • Fuel Temperature & Pressure
  • Time counter for each consumed Fuel Type

Additionally of the above real time data (information) the system can notify via e-mail to the e-mail account of your choice by sending a report in pdf format daily or at client’s requested intervals. This report will include:

  • Date & Time Start / Finish and Measure Duration
  • Ships total Consumption in MT for HFO & MGO
  • Consumer Consumption in MT for HFO & MGO
  • Consumer Group Consumption in MT for HFO & MGO

Why Choose Our FC System?

Key Features

Our Fuel Consumption System (FCS) is fully automated, pre-programmed and calibrated by our Technicians. After on board installation, it does not require any interference during operation or need any manual input in order to activate the system.

KEY FEATURES OF OUR FCS:

The system is well interconnected to all the on board installed flow meters as long as they have interconnection communication capability through network Maximum error of 0.1% within FCS system.

All types of fuel (such as HFO, IFO, MGO) can be measured and automatically recognized through our system’s smart operation.

Software data storage for as long as the user wishes.

User-friendly interface: The operational parameters are presented to the touchscreen panel in multiple selectable screens. All available information is given in a user-friendly way and is presented both in written form and in graphics (mimics).
System Security: Security arrangements are provided to prevent unintentional or unauthorized access to functions or alteration of configuration, programs or data by unauthorized personnel.

Self-Monitoring: The system includes a self-monitoring function, and any incorrect operation, abnormal condition or a fault (power failure or sensor failure, e.t.c) is detected and alarmed at the touchscreen station.

Easy to install and integrate with existing on board systems under the guidance of Electropneumatic’s Technicians.

Customizable configurations to meet specific vessel requirements. The FCS is also a part of the Electropneumatic’s Professional Ship Viewer Platform (option) through which data can be sent to Headquarters, by installing two databases, one aboard the ship and one on= shore with or without the need of cloud service.

Combination with EEXI power limitation on-screen notification, as long as a torque meter on vessel’s tail shaft is installed (option).
